I've started using Sugar in the raw, and tell you what.... I enjoy my coffee and tea a lot more. I used to use artificial sweetener in my drinks - but not anymore.
I was watching the evening news last night, and they had a story about this guy who lost 40 pounds by drinking a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and sugar water daily. He drinks sugar water throughout the day - and it curbs his appetite.
This kind of makes sense. In the hospital, patients are given an IV solution. I think this helps prevent dehydration.
A lot of people mistake dehydration for hunger and end up eating when they are really just dehydrated. By drinking water (without sugar) throughout the day, one can prevent dehydration. But by drinking sugar water throughout the day, can one prevent dehydration AND get a boost of energy at the same time? I'm not a nutritionist, so I don't really know the answer.
I'm not into drinking plain sugar water, so instead - I drink earl grey tea with Sugar in the raw.
As far as the teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil goes - I'm not sure what that does for you. I haven't incorporated that into my daily intake yet, but when I do, I will probably soak it into a piece of bread or on a salad instead of just drinking it plain.
Last night I did notice that I didn't reach for snacks late at night like I usually do.
But then again, my wife just came back from McDonalds with my Big Mac meal and filet o fish sandwich. Hmm, maybe I'll soak a teaspoonful of olive oil on the bun of my sandwich.
